以前半導体チップを作っていた工場(former semiconductor chip plant)が、最先端技術を使ったワイン醸造所(winery)になったというニュース。ぜひ試飲してみたいものです。state-of-the-art も「最先端の」ですね。

1)「(人に)〜するように勧める」どのような人がこのイベントに参加するよう勧められていますか？ encourage (人) to do の形で使う動詞ですね。Encourage employees to think of better ways to do things. (従業員に物事を処理するもっと良い方法を考えるよう奨励しなさい) This victory encouraged me. (この勝利で希望がわいた) のようにも使えます。

2)「長期雇用の職」非常勤の何人かは正社員への登用が検討されます。a permanent tooth (永久歯), permanent residents (永住権を得た者), permanent members of the council (会議の常任委員) 反対語は temporary です。temporary measures (一時的措置)、a temporary worker (臨時雇いの労働者)

3)「志望者志願者」興味がある希望者は応募するために何をしなければなりませんか？ a candidate for governor (知事候補)、a candidate for the scholarship (奨学金希望者)、The candidate is strongly backed up by consumer groups. (その候補者は消費者団体から強い指示を受けている)
